I have been training in martial arts since the age of 8. I am a full time Urban Krav Maga instructor and a former Commando Krav Maga instructor with a background predominately in Muay Thai. Having trained at the legendary Fairtex gyms in Bangplee (Bangkok) and Pattaya. Along with K1 fighter Ole Laursen's Legacy Gym in east Thailand and Rawai Muay Thai down in Phuket. Whilst travelling and living in some rather unsavory parts of Thailand I realised that Muay Thai alone was not enough. Upon my return to London I came across Commando Krav Maga, trained in this system and subsequently became an instructor. Coming from a striking background I found the lack of striking and especially pre-emptive strikes was a hard pill to swallow. Urban krav maga was the answer. This new system blends together fighting systems as well as various styles of Krav Maga: Karate;
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Traditional Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Boxing, Muay Thai,
Tae Kwan Do and MMA. Thus giving its practitioners all the tools they may need in a self-defence situation. People need no-frills, effective self -defence techniques that can be learned quickly and instinctively, are clearly applicable to real situations and that don't require levels of strength, fitness and flexibility to which only professional sports people can aspire. In Urban Krav Maga these questions are tried and tested through the "pressure testing". A highly intense attack scenario which makes transparent all flaws. Holding a REPs level 3 personal training qualification means I can aide in my students progress in all aspects. Register of Exercise Professionals Home I like to stay away from the traditional gym as much as possible. Much preferring to train outdoors and using bodyweight mechanics and utilising high intensity functional fitness.
